How Often Do You Use The Power of Your Imagination

Imagination makes the world go round and up, up, up and up with wonderful delights.

It is so helpful when we can have others inspire us and help us to use our imagination to think big.

One such luminary who does that well is Kylie Jenner.

Using The Power of the Imagination

Do you remember what it was like to be a child? Imagining all the things you wanted to be, do and have when you grew up?

You truly believed that the fairy tales that you so often heard and the things that you would imagine were real. There was no doubt in your minds. You had your imaginary friends and even your imaginary pets. Your imagination didn’t allow for any what if’s….what if this or what if that. It was a clear vision without the fog….. Pure innocence of an infinite being.

And now the time you spend imagining what you don’t want exceeds that of the time that you spend imagining what you do want and you wonder why your life is the way it is. You become fearful of what could happen. You begin imagining things that are limiting you from being, doing or having what you want in your life. Instead of imagining what you want the world to be like, you embrace the fear of what is going on around you.

There is nothing more powerful than the imagination. Your thoughts become a mental image in your mind. It is like directing your own movie and you are the star. Using your imagination will help you to reach your full potential and create an abundance of everything in your life if you allow it to do so.

Think about how many times you have imagined something that you wanted in your life. Was it a clear focused vision without any doubt or resistance or was it intertwined with thoughts of “what if’s, I can’t, that will never happen, or it will never work? These thoughts are most often a part of our past being revived or you may be imagining possible future situations. The only reason you have doubt and resistance is because of beliefs that come from past experiences or what you believe may happen in the future. You are bringing those experiences into present time otherwise they would never exist.

This is where you imagine things going wrong and having a negative outcome which brings about worry. Worry is a negative emotion that your body feels about something that you have made up and could not exist without your own stories. It can cause you to imagine all kinds of things that can be a disservice to you. If you imagine through visions of the past you can get a distorted view of what is possible.

Imagine what you want your life to look like. Now imagine the person you would be. What would be different? That is where you want to begin. It is never the physical aspect of what we imagine that we want, it is the feeling that it gives us when we get it. It is becoming that person first that will bring you everything else that you imagine. Somewhere along the way we got it backwards. We think if we have all of the things we want first then we will become that happier more fulfilled person we want to be. If that is the case then why is it that so many people that have all the material things are still living unhappy and unfulfilled lives? You can’t achieve anything that does not emulate who you are while you are trying to achieve it.

All of the great inventors like Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, the Wright brothers, Henry Ford and many others could not have created what they did without the power of their imaginations. None of them were able to succeed the first time in fact for most it took a great many times before they were able to achieve success. Who they were being and what they were trying to achieve did not match up. It was in their journey to achieve their dream that they became who they needed to be for things to change.

Material things will bring instant gratification that will only last for a short time. You will always be yearning for more unless you have become the person that you want to be. You will be waiting for someone or something to fix whatever circumstance exists for you. Imagine living from love, joy and peace. These are the aspects of your true nature. So begin by imagining the person that you want to be….the person that you would be if you had the lifestyle that you desired, the relationship that you wanted, and the career that you always hoped for. Now be that person.

Each and every character that we read about in the fairy tales as a child exists within us. I love the way that Marianne Williamson explained it in “Everyday Grace“. She refers to the story of Cinderella in which every character is a role that we play out in our own lives. Cinderella is the part of us who plays the role of the maiden. The evil step mother is our wicked ego self, the prince is the prince of peace within us and with our imaginations we can bring magic into our lives. The Fairy God Mother in all of us!
